Meet the Staff

Renee Thomasz
ReneeRenee has been working for Alisa for almost 10 years at both Hillview and Oriel Park Equestrian Centres. She has national qualifications in equine management, business administration and experience in the property maintenance industry. Renee also holds a current senior first aid certificate and working with children check.

Renee is the part owner of a nine year old quarter horse mare Shassy who resides at Oriel Park. Renee regularly attends quarter horse and palomino association events and enjoys schooling and training her horse in dressage and natural horsemanship disciplines.

Karen Walker (Super K)
KarenKaren has been working for Alisa for more than 10 years at both Hillview and Oriel Park Equestrian Centres. Karen shows great dedication and attention to detail in all aspects of horse management which has made her a much loved and respected Oriel Park team member. Karen holds a current senior first aid certificate and working with children check.

Karen is the proud owner of two horses ‘Louie’ and ‘Cowboy’. Louie was a rescue horse that has been happily cared for by Karen for over 15 years alongside his cute companion Cowboy. Their excellent condition is a testament to Karen’s love and quality of care provided to these two lucky horses.

Petra Hotz
PetraPetra has been a regular coach both at Hillview and Oriel Park Equestrian Centre for almost 10 years. Petra has the current accreditations:
 

  •  RDA level 1 coach
  • AHRC level one coach
  • EA intro horse mastership
  • EA intro riding
  • Currently completing EA intro coaching
  • Achieved level 2 in Parelli Natural Horsemanship with previous horse Grace and retiree Khan.
  • Achieved level 3 in Parelli Natural Horsemanship with current horse Mabel.
  • Current Senior 1st aid
  • Current working with Children Card


Petra is originally from Germany with a dressage training background but since moving to Australia many years ago has been re-educating her horses Khann and Grace using natural horsemanship techniques. In the last 18 months Petra has taken on the challenge of training "Mabel".
Mabel is a true Australian Whaler, she was one of the 12 horses rescued from Prenti Downs station in W.A's north. Petra is currently training towards her EA level 1 dressage accreditation

Alisa Dodds
Alisa has been the manager of Hillview Riding Centre and now Oriel Park Equestrian Centre for over 15 years. Alisa has the current accreditations:

  • AHRC NCAS level 1 coach
  • AHRC NCAS level 2 coach                                                                                          
  • EA NCAS level 1 General coach
  • Certificate 4 in work place training and assessing
  • Accredited assesor for AHRC 1 coaches course
  • Accredited assesor for Horse Riding Coach.com
  • EA SSTA for Intro Riding and Intro Horse Mastership
  • EA Level 2 Horse Mastership
  • Currently training for EA level 2 dressage specialist coach
  • Current Senior 1st aid
  • Current Working with Children Card

  • Alisa has been a regular competitor on her previous horse ‘Reddy to Rave’ in dressage, hacking and one day eventing. Her current horse ‘Balfour Tickled Pink’ or Pinky as she is affectionately known, is in training for Alisa to complete her EA level 2 Dressage coaching qualification.Pinky is a registered Australian Stock Horse and had her first year of official competition in 2012, winning many Champions and placing 3rd in every class at her 1st Perth Royal Show. Alisa has also enjoyed schooling and training the beautiful Andalusion Stallion "Leviton" in 2011 & 2012 who has won a very special place in her heart!  Alisa also enjoys specializing in the retraining of the ‘off the track’ thoroughbred and working with green and young horses.

Ali Roberts
Ali is one of our youngest trainee coaches working towards her AHRC NCAS level 1 accreditation. Ali has been a student of Alisa’s since she was 7 years old and has been a conscientious and dedicated pupil. Having started from beginner riding lessons Ali was an active participant in our leasing program which provided her with the skills for owning her first horse.

Ali’s first horse ‘Every Little Breeze’ provided her with a solid learning foundation from pony club to the official show ring competing at Royal Show level. Ali’s new horse Palmerston Park Silhouette with previous extensive showing and breed class success has enabled her to compete at a national level in show horse events with great success.

Ali is a regular member of WAYDRA attending clinics and training days and events in dressage and showhorse competitions. Their most recent success was winning the State associate dressage champion novice level and reserve champion preliminary level and ridden derivative Arabian mare of the year.

Bridgette Murray
 Bridgette Murray has been employed by Oriel Park since March 2010. Bridgette has the following accreditations;

  • AHRC level 1 Coach                                                                                                                             
  • EA Intro Horse Mastership
  • EA Intro Riding
  • Currently training for EA NCAS lntro Coach
  • Current Senior 1st aid certificate
  • Current Working with Children Card
  • Certificate 2 in Animal Studies

 Bridgette is currently working towards her EA level 1 general coach qualification on her Andalusian gelding "Blue Blood el Chico" affectionately known as "Chico". Bridgette's passion is show jumping and Cross Country events and has a broad range of experience in all areas of competition.

Katrin Kuenstler
Katrin has been employed with Oriel Park since September 2012. Katrin has the following accreditations;

  • EA level 1 Intro Riding
  • EA level 1 Intro Horse Management
  • EA NCAS Intro Coach
  • EA Level 1 General Coach
  • Current Senior 1st aid certificate
  • Current Working with Children Card

Having moved over from Germany a few years ago, Katrin is now busy coaching at Oriel Park, several Adult Riding Clubs, Pony Clubs and also working with private students who compete successfully in Dressage and Eventing. Katrin is a passionate Dressage rider and has previously presented horses in Young Horse classes and at Pony Dressage events. She works with horses of all sizes, breeds and colours and is currently training a number of horses under saddle - from a 12hh Welsh Show Pony to a 17hh Warmblood competing at medium level dressage.
